A bit about Office Support Services

​

The initial idea for Office Support Services originated in 2010 whilst I was going through my 4th redundancy!  Following a house move from Lancashire to Llangollen and the birth of my son I decided I needed a better work/life balance and started the business in 2013. 

 

My first client is still a client some 8 years later and, although initially based locally, is now located in London.  In one of my first tasks I was handed 5 cardboard boxes and inside were 5 years worth of receipts and bills which were to be sorted for their accountant.

 

Over the last 8 years, I have worked with a wide range of businesses including tradesmen/women, haulage companies, property owners, property developers, retailers, dog walkers and dance schools to name a few.  

​

I have undertaken a varied selection of tasks from sourcing and ordering products and services to creating itineraries, agendas and minutes, online bookkeeping to applying for an HGV Operators Licence and assisting with the running of the company.

A bit about Me

​

With over 30 years experience in various administrative, secretarial and personal assistant roles I have worked in a wide range of industries including financial services, NHS and private hospitals, logistics, government-funded projects and hospitality. 

 

In my early career, I undertook traditional secretarial roles using a manual typewriter, I soon progressed to office management and PA roles in Insurance and Financial Services and these developed rapidly with the introduction of computers to the workplace.  I have had to adapt my skills to ever-changing environments, helping to improve productivity and enabling the businesses to grow. 

 

As the financial crisis hit in 2007 I took a side step away from Financial Services which took me to Business Link North West, a government-funded project sourcing training for businesses and, following redundancy, further secretarial roles in both private and NHS hospitals followed.  

​

I thoroughly enjoy freelance work where no two weeks are the same, offering admin help to small business owners to complete the paperwork they put off or do not have the time to get round to but also helping business owners to free up more time to grow their business.
